The course is designed for beginners to lean; the aim of this course is to create a foundation for you to build on.
Firstly we will explain the definition of waste and briefly explain MUDA, then introduce you to Tim woods. We will explain the 8 waste streams, and in each section explain why, how and summarise. We will also briefly explain (fifo) first in first out, (lifo) Last in first out and (JIT) Just in time giving you an insight to stock movement.
This is an important subject and the knowledge you will gain will interlink with the other courses which in turn will improve your skills. The eight waste stream theory along with Tim woods is a powerful tool to use in any waste removal exercise, it will guide and standardise the process for you. At the end of this training you should have a basic knowledge of waste removal and be able to:
- Understand the theories around the 8 waste streams
- Confidently explain waste and Tim woods to a 3rd party.
- Implement small changes around your work space.
- Have a basic knowledge of (fifo) first in first out, (lifo) Last in first out and (JIT) Just in time
